SMD resistor / capacitor codes
Decode 103, 4R7, 1002, 01C (EIA-96) resistor markings and 104, 4N7 capacitor codes.
Examples:
Value10 kΩ
Scheme3 digits (2 significant + multiplier)
- 3 digits: two significant digits then a power of ten, 103 = 10×10³ = 10 kΩ
- 4 digits: three significant digits then the power, 1002 = 100×10² = 10 kΩ
- R marks the decimal point: 4R7 = 4.7 Ω, R010 = 0.01 Ω
- EIA-96: two digits index the E96 table, the letter is the multiplier (Z/Y/X/A/B/C/D/E/F), 01C = 100×100 = 10 kΩ
